Blimey Tom it is hard enough living with one woman let alone five of them. I bet you miss them now though.

Jim you are so right,I had six sisters and only Eileen is left and me.Two older brothers who I idealised. My only regret was that I left my family in Emgland in 1962 to come to the U.S A.and in those days the only way you could stay in touch was by writing letters, the phone was so expensive,I only saw the family three times after that untill I returned in 1992 for a visit,I guess this is one reason I am so passionate about my growing up on the estate because that was when we where all together.A great Mom and Dad and a wonderful bunch of brothers and sisters.Life was amazing for me the youngest and they spoiled me.

Well they are still alive while they are in your memories Tom, and I believe you will all meet up again. But not too soon I hope. When my Chris went to the States it was 1955, and correct me If I am wrong but I remember phone calls to the U S A used to cost £3 per minute. Few people could afford that.

I got a phone call today from England and it only costs them 15p
(15 pence) for an hour as the phone company (BT ?) is running a Sunday special at the moment.
So I hope you got lots of phone calls from back home today Tommy.

Jim and John, like most things we remember as being very expensive ,phone calling to Europe is very cheap in fact my phone is hooked up to my computer and it does not cost me a cent to call the U.K. I can call for hours and talk to my sister and old friends, has made things nice for me over the holidays being layed up with my knee job.My wife Sue is ready to do away with me I guess I do not make a very good invalid, she say's I am way to moody. She thinks poison would be the best way,if any thing happens to me I am now on record.I am on the mend hope to start driving this week and I did a half mile on the tread mill today.

Sounds like you are getting more excersise than I have over the holidays.
The weather has not been that good and I've been hibernating, so I think I'll keep the extra few pounds I've gained from eating all that Turkey and chocolate 'til Springtime.

Tommy, Joan looked at the photo and said, how clean and tidy they all are just goes to show how hard the women had to work,no auto washing machines in those days.
Lovely photo Tommy

It certainly is a lovely photo Tommy, you can see the family likeness in all of you.
Your Mum looks nice and pretty young still in the photo.
