Do you have a thought for the Day.

Hi Cuckooites,
If you have a Thought for the Day you would like to share with our group. Please send to
Thanks Tommy.

Thought for the Day.

Here's something to think about recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visitsand exhaustive Lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age. (I just turned 60.)A little concerned about that comment,I couldn't resist asking him,'Do you think I'll live to be 80?'He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?''Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!'Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?'I said, 'Not much... my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!''Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?''No, I don't,' I said.He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, play rock and roll,or have a lot of sex?' 'No,' I said.He looked at me and said,... 'Then, why do you even give a shit?

Hi Cuckooites,
here is the latest news from Jackie as of today, this Reunion is selling out fast,at this rate the registrations are coming so fast I am having trouble keeping up.She is suggesting to you folks who are planning on attending and still have not sent in your request and money to do it right away as any time we could be putting up the sold out sign,We have only had the reunion reservations on sale for two weeks and we are nearly there.WE will not let anyone attend who arrives on the night and is not registered and paid for so please do NOT bring friends or family who are not registered. There is a strict capacity allowed of 120 people and we can not go over this amount. We urge all Cuckooites to send in their requests now to save being told, sorry we are sold out.

No one believes seniors

No one believes seniors

No-one believes seniors . . . everyone thinks they are senile.
An Elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth anniversary.
The couple had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved back to their old neighbourhood after they retired.
Holding hands they walked back to their old school.
It was not locked, so they entered, and found the old desk they'd shared, where Andy had carved 'I love you, Sally.'
On their way back home, a bag of money fell out of an armoured car, practically landing at their feet Sally quickly picked it up,
but not sure what to do with it, they took it home.
There, she counted the money -- fifty thousand dollars.  Andy said, 'We've got to give it back.'
Sally said, 'Finders keepers.' She put the money back in the bag and hid it in their attic.
The next day, two police men were canvassing the neighborhood looking for the money, and knocked on the door.
'Pardon me, but did either of you find a bag that fell out of an armoured car yesterday?'
Sally said, 'No.'
Andy said, 'She's lying. She hid it up in the attic.'
Sally said, 'Don't believe him, he's getting senile.'
The police turn to Andy and began to question him.
One says: 'Tell us the story from the beginning'
Andy said, 'Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school yesterday . . '
The first policeman turns to his partner and says, 'We're outta here.'

Poem Brent

Dream River

For as young children ,we once played by a stream

Now forever Brent river shall run thru our dreams

Playing under her bridges , and sheltering from rain

Hearing whistling above, a puffing Push n' Pull train

A girl skipping, slips splashing, from a stepping stone

Her big brother has been fishing, for golf balls to own

Nigh quaint colourful caravans, black stallions do stand

As an old gypsy woman, makes paper flowers, by hand

Set high on the green hill is Charlie Chaplin's old school

From it's gray clock tower perch, our Cuckoo bird calls

Hastily gathering Horse Chestnuts, from under the trees

A boy stuffs them in pockets, they hang full to his knees

In Ye Olde White Hart, men throw darts and drink beer

From Greenford's Granada, children cheering we hear

While silently in Churchfield, weeping willows do sway

See the Bunny Park rabbits, and a peacock's tail display

Children play in a cave, where Dick Turpin did hide

Neath Hanwell's viaduct arches, our Brent does glide

Flowing forth to the Thames, now our river must roam

The Church clock chimes four, it is time we were home

From a top window, of a number 55 bus, we can see

Some lads in Pete's Café, drinking nice cups o' tea.

Fw: The Dash

Please take the time to watch this ,it sends a powerful message. If it doesn,t move you nothing will.

The Dash...

In July 2006, a short 3-minute movie was launched on the Internet called
The Dash. Since then, over 40 million people from around the world have
watched it; and over 20,000 a day continue to watch it as a result of people
passing it along.

The movie has been more successful than anyone could have ever imagine.
More importantly, however, it has inspired many, many people to
reflect on their lives and ask that all important question, 'Are my priorities
where they should be?'

I hope you enjoy this movie and share it with those who are close to

Proud to be English

From The Queen's Royal Lancers Website:

Goodbye to my England , So long my old friend
Your days are numbered, being brought to an end
To be Scottish, Irish or Welsh that's fine
But don't say you're English, that's way  out of line.
The French and the Germans may call themselves such
So may Norwegians, the Swedes and the Dutch
You can say you are Russian or maybe a Dane
But don't say you're English ever again.
At Broadcasting House the word is taboo
In Brussels it's scrapped, in Parliament too
Even schools are affected, staff do as they're  told

They must not teach children about England of old.

Writers like Shakespeare, Milton and Shaw
The pupils don't learn about them anymore
How about Agincourt, Hastings , Arnhem or Mons ?
When England lost hosts of her very brave sons.
We are not Europeans, how can we be?
Europe is miles away over the sea
We're the English from England , let's all be  proud
Stand up and be counted - Shout it out loud !
Let's tell our Government and Brussels too
We're proud of our heritage and the Red, White  and Blue
Fly the flag of Saint George or the Union Jack
Let the world know - WE WANT OUR ENGLAND BACK !!!!

Fw: September 26th 2009 Reunion.

Hi Cuckooites,
Just a update on the Reunion planned for September.Interest is very high for this event and we expect a quick sell out.As I have mentioned to you our mailing list has more than doubled since the last Reunion and our website is receiving as many as 300 visitors a day.We will be sending out the invitation registration forms by this weekend and we urge you to send them back as soon as possible to avoid disappointment ,we have room for only 120 attendees. One minor change to the previous notice the fee has changed to £8.00 each person after booking the hall we found out the price had gone up by £100.00 sorry about that but this is still a great value as this price just covers the cost of the buffet.Look for you registration this week and be sure to act right away if you want to attend this great Cuckooite get together.
I will keep you all updated to any changes .
Have a great week Tommy
