Britains Got Talent 11/04/09 - SUSAN BOYLE sings "I DREAMED A DREAM" [ HQ ]

The most stand out audition of the show was that of 47 year old Susan Boyle.

Susan first appeared with Ant and Dec declaring that she is a single woman who lives with her cat. Not only has she never been married but she also admitted that she had never even been kissed.

Susan looked like your typical batty old aunt, gold dress and all and when she walked on to stage you could just feel the scorn of the audience. Simon Cowell didnt look too hopeful when Susan said she wanted to be a professional singer like Elaine Paige and when she said she would be singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables.

But then Susan sang and the amazement of the crowd was clear. It was the type of audition that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck and the tears well in your eyes,

it certainly had that effect on Amanda Holden. Piers Morgan called the performance stunning and Simon told Susan she was a little tiger. She seemed a bit baffled by the description.

The show over here plays during the summer months and it is called "America's got talent" it is a spin off of the English one. We have Piers Morgan as a judge too, and also have Sharon Ozborne, and David Hasselhoff. Geo and I watch it every year.
This lady (Susan Boyle) is really somebody special.
American Idol is something entirely different, with Simon Cowell as a judge on that too. I think that they get that in England too.

I have seldom been so moved by a singer... yet, Susan's beauty within places her in my highest regard. She is a very talented woman and I hope that she gets all the admiration that she deserves. She has already achieved her dream to be a professional singer. My husband and I have pledged to buy every song she ever produces. Way to go Susan. Thank you for bringing hope and humility back to an otherwise vain and cruel world. You're perfect just the way you are!

Florrence I could not have said it better, she is really big here in the U.S. right now and we are looking forward to her interview with Larry King on world wide C N N
tonight,I hope she sings again.I went into U Tube today and they have a recording she did in 1999
singing Cry Me A River.Worth listening to.

Tom we keep turning on u tube, she has become an addiction, the papers are full of her here. Apparently she was starved of oxygen as a baby which left her with learning difficulties. She sings in her local church and at the karioki evenings in her local. Her friend said that she went into depression when her mum died and wouldnt leave the house, and the village louts used to take the micky out of her, they would knock at the door wait for her to answer and ridicule her throwing things and abusing her, now they want her autograph.
Like Amanda Holden I hope Simon doesnt change her, as being herself is part of her appeal. Love her, I do wish however that the media here would stop referring to her as The Hairy Angel.
I have watched Americas got talent but I cant stand moody hasslehoff if he doesnt get his own way. Treat her with respect America please.

Yes Yvonne, they are now calling her Rocky over here, the press and T.V. love her.I hope she is not a five minute wonder as I would like to see the person who is not given a chance sometimes rise to the top.Our world is built to much around being perfect and most of us are far from being that,She did look a little flustered on the Larry King show but she did sing another song and it went over well.

George how you could have the cheek to comment on a small typing error of mine. Just one letter. You should be red with embarrassment. I didn't have to wait long did I ?

Just been on U Tube and found another recording from Susan Boyle ,she sings Killing me Softley and does a pretty good job at it.Not as good as Roberta Flack but that was a classic in it,s own rite.Take the time to listen to it.

George hang in there,I went and fixed it for you.We do not want the site Prefects checking up on us and giving you a bad time a Jim.

georgek said...

Thanks Tommy, can you imagine if Jim had been a prefect at school,Im glad I wasn,t around when he were about, checking this ,checking that, then checking all the NBKs!!,who luvs ya baby?

jim davis said...

No I did not like prefects at all, but I liked getting people into trouble, (a Grass if you like). When something happened in the class and the teacher said "who did that"? I would quickly put my hand up, and at the same time call "it was Coles Sir" Or any other name I thought of. The looks they gave me sometimes was hilarious, because I always called out the name of someone that had done nothing.
