The Battersea funfair photos are when the Americans contracted Battersea fun fair for the military during the July 4th holiday. Ena’s hubby pulled down the knickers on the dummy for fun, but my mother when she saw the photo was so shocked, she really thought they were our bodies!

I had a lot of fun on the Dodgem Cars there once.
I believe the Battersea Funfair is where the Festival of Britain was held.
Does anyone remember it?
Did any Cuckooites attend the festival?

Sure did John, when I was at Cuckoo seniors we went there as a class outing I think it was around 1950 51 or 52.A really bis event at the time, was nice to get out of school for the day .All we wanted to do was ride on the rides there.

Festival of Britain, 1951. I went to the Battersea Fun Fair whilst I was on leave from the army and took my sister along. The water-splash frightened the life out of her. They had a couple of rides there that I never saw anywhere else. I think one of them was finally banned for being too dangerous.

Fixed Eff.Sorry Ena.

I had a go at shooting the beer bottles and the ping pong balls off of the water spouts at Battersea Funfair once.
I figured the barrel of the rifle had been tampered so I adjusted my aim to compensate.
Boy, was the bloke teed off when he had to put all new table tennis balls and bottles back up and I walked away with my prize.

Went to Battersea funfair twice. The first time was very special as it had all the 'fun things' & was relatively new.Went later with Jim.Don't think it was because I was older, but there seemed to be so many things missing.Hated the aeroplane that went round in circles & rotated at the same time.Loved everything else.I need to tie up with some people, but keep loosing track. Our Alan,Dot,her friend Sonia,Angela Ware,J.D.Yvonne & any others I'm bound to forget.
