Again Terry has opened some wounds ,people will remember him for what he was whether it is good or bad.I myself would like to think of him as the man i have met at the last 4 reunions. We all pay for our mistakes and I believe Terry paid for his.I do not want us to get all upset with what went on in the past but move on.We all know there where problems on the estate where we grew up but most of us managed to make it out unscathed ,There are problems everywhere but we can always turn them into the positive if we allow ourselves the insight to look for the good in people and not dwell on bad.We can not go back and change what has happened we can only go forward and try to be more positive in our ways ,change yourself as you do not have the power to change others. My sermon for the day.

This photo is one of the best I have seen, taken in 1937 it shows the simplicity of the world we lived in.How many times did you cross this bridge or cheat and cross the tracks when a train was not coming. Our beloved playing fields where on the other side where we Whiled our summer days from school played all sorts of games. And if you saw it now, ugly Copley Close what a blight on the landscape.

Here are two more early photo's of the estate that Jackie has sent me.I find them fascinating as they are so stark and void of people and cars. The overhead shot was taken in 1938 as where the street scenes.I know where they are and the names let us see if you do.As I have said I have many more but want to keep you all excited about these as they are a wonderful find thanks to Jackie Stringer our U K co ordinater.

Sue and I have have just returned from this paradise in Arizona,We spent nine days hiking and taking in the wonderful red rock formations,This is trully a remarkable place and if you ever get the chance please visit it.Sedona is located about 4 hours south of Las Vegas on the way you can visit the Grand Canyon and take in another of Natures great wonders. This is where many cowboy and Indian films where made and as I looked at these majestic rocks or mountains I expected to see Indiam smoke signals rising into the sky. This is just a handfull of the 100 or so photo's I took I hope you enjoy as much as we do.Photo's can not possibly capture what we saw with the human eye but I tried.Tommy and Sue.

Jackie Stringer found these rare photo's of the estate taken in 1938.The first one is Kennedy Path leading from Kennedy to Harp road,The second is Westcotte crescent,I believe running on the left side of the council building yard.Notice how clean the estate was and the lack of vehicles very much different if you was to visit it today. We have many more photo's from this time period of the streets on the Estate and will publish them periodicly as they are so rare.
Left click to enlarge and see the many details very clearly.
