Where has everyone gone

I will try to answer that question, funny thing is they are still with us .Last month in one week we had over 600 people visit the website. In one day we had over 165 people check in.It amazes me where they come from but why they choose not to participate is even stranger. If we where to announce a Reunion tomorrow we would be sold out in a month just like last time.Unfortunately I am no longer in a position to spend the money to fly from Seattle U S A to organize the event and spend the time and energy I have in the past to put this event on even with the help I have received from Jackie Stringer to handle everything until I arrive a week before the event.Age catches up with all of us and until you have tried flying for up to 15 hours and the jet lag you endure it is no longer fun.
We have over 800 pounds in reserve if anyone wants to take on another reunion I am sure Jackie would help and I would get the word out to the mailing list of over 300 Cuckooites we have on file.If you want it bad enough get going and go for it.

Hi Tommy. I have to own up to being one of those who logs in from time to time but who does not contribute to the chatter. The fact that you have so many hits on a regular basis indicates that you have a strong following and perhaps, like me, they like to follow the chat of your 'regulars' although they feel that they have not a lot to say themselves.

You have done a great job in setting up Cuckooites and in organising the reunions. For those of us who grew up on the estate, it has been nice to have the opportunity to look back to those days and exchange remeniscences.

I had the pleasure of putting together the first two books that were published. The raw material that I had was fascinating - in all a brilliant account of life on the estate in the 1940's and 1950's. For those of us who were there, it brought back many happy memories.

I think Val got it right when she said, 'sit back and let it happen'. There is an interest out there, it just happens to be a silent majority.

May I take this opportunity to say 'hello' to those who know me - John B and Angela K particularly come to mind.

Keep smiling
